Resumen
This chapter examines efforts to overcome androcentric approaches in Latin American cinema history by foregrounding women's contributions in Peru. It centers on the Reversible Archive, an online repository created by us, which collects primary sources on nonfiction films by Peruvian women filmmakers active between the 1970s and the present. The Archive preserves fragile, dispersed materials often held in private collections and promotes open-access, collaborative, and non-hierarchical research. By valuing filmmaking processes, social networks, and alternative narratives over formalist standards, the project challenges traditional historiography and fosters broader scholarly and educational engagement with women's cinema in Peru.
