Resumen
Having committed and motivated employees is a challenge for companies, as it requires continuous innovation in an environment of constant change. This is a concern for every entrepreneur, shareholder, or investor. Therefore, this study reviews the relationship between work commitment, work motivation, and business innovation; it also determines the mediating role of work motivation. A multivariate study based on mediation analysis with cross-sectional data was used, in which 188 workers were studied. The data were stored in Excel, and descriptive, correlational, and mediation analyses were performed using the Jamovi program. The results showed significant levels of correlation between business innovation and motivation (r = 0.54***), as well as the relationship between innovation and work commitment (r = 0.40). In turn, motivation and work engagement were found to be related to each other (r = 0.44). The mediation model was also reported, showing that motivation plays a partial mediating role between work engagement and business innovation (β = 0.195; p < 0.001). The results may be useful for implementing strategies that improve employee job commitment and motivation, which in turn can generate business innovation. Therefore, companies should foster motivation and job commitment to create a culture of innovation. © LEIRD 2025.All rights reserved.
