Resumen

After the innovation of the traditional press in the digital age, this research aims to know the perception of young users about the journalistic content on Instagram of Wayka.pe, a media outlet that has ventured into digital platforms since 2014 and that has been shown to be valid to date. The type of research is qualitative in focus, which will demonstrate the background of the interpretation, reception and way of thinking of the informants. Therefore, the results will be obtained based on the use of the interview guide instrument for the elaboration of questions for young users between 15 and 24 years old, a range determined by UNESCO (2012). Among the various perceptions, most of the interviewees stated that Wayka.pe is an interesting and different medium from the others since they considered that journalistic content represented the reality of the national situation and that it also left a message to society by covering issues of feminism, the LGBT community and human rights. Absolute confidence is in the environment on the part of young people. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025.
