Warehouse management to reduce logistics costs in a commercial company

Resumen

The objective of this research was to reduce logistics costs in a commercial company, by proposing to improve warehouse management. For this, a sample was studied in the warehouse area processes. The methodology was a type of applied research with a quantitative approach; using the questionnaire instruments, document analysis guide and observation guide; to diagnose the existing situation of the commercial company. Likewise, through the cause - effect and Pareto diagram, six main root causes were detected that show deficiencies in the procedures and operations carried out by the organization. It should be noted that the tools implemented were ABC analysis, Method 5 S', IPERC, among others, managing to reduce the initial costs of the commercial company. Finally, it is concluded that the improvement proposal from an economic point of view is both viable and profitable, since the financial indicators are a positive NPV of S/ 63,539.07, the IRR value of 18.5% and a cost benefit of 1.08. © CISCI - Simposium Iberoamericano en Educacion, Cibernetica e Informatica 2024.
