Resumen
Currently, the requirement of customers for prompt attention to their orders implies that companies make improvements without incurring in high storage costs of finished products. Warehouses have a shortage of available space, difficulties in transit and obsolete inventories, which materialize in the delay in the attention of orders, the main concern of this study. Therefore, it proposes a model oriented to improve the service rate and working conditions through the complementation of SLP tools, ABC Classification and 5S. Consequently, in the ARENA 16.1 simulator, the service rate is increased from 0.93 to 0.98 (19.5%), service time is reduced by 26%, on-time delivery is increased by 10% and late delivery is reduced by 70%, with an economic impact of 434,131 USD and monthly savings of 183,830 USD. In addition, the project is profitable, with an Internal Rate of Return (IRR) greater than the Opportunity Cost of Investments (COK).
