Resumen
Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) is a teaching proposal that is based on the immediate reality of students, promoting the initiative to innovate ways of solving problems. According to this proposal, it has been observed that several students apply EMR spontaneously, favoring their learning. For this reason, this research proposes to validate a self-perception scale of application of the principles of realistic mathematics education in Peruvian pre-university students aspiring to engineering careers. The sample was 122 students, 66 (54.1%) women and 56 (45.9%) men; between 16 and 26 years old. Using an evaluative methodology, a self-perception scale of application of the principles of EMR was constructed according to four principles: principle of reality, guided reinvention, interaction and interconnection. Finally, the analyzes demonstrated that the scale achieved optimal levels of factorial validity and reliability.
