Resumen
Today, the teaching of mathematics has changed as technology advances. Throughout history, teaching has evolved dramatically. Today, the teaching of mathematics is no stranger to all these changes and, therefore, relies on today's technology. One of the most important technological branches of this evolution in the teaching of mathematics is virtual reality. In Mexico, there are several lines of research to develop mathematical skills. That is why this work conducts research with a methodology based on a longitudinal case study with a quantitative observational approach based on the implementation of virtual reality applied to basic mathematics education, considering a pedagogical approach and supported by a multidisciplinary group of experts. The form of evaluation is based on USAER evaluation instruments organized in 3 cycles according to the student's school grade, based on virtual reality applications and designed to improve specific mathematical skills of the user profile. The case study uses an ecosystem model that helps to create, implement and provide feedback on the use of virtual reality applications for children with learning disabilities, highlighting as main contributions the substantial improvement of students in the diagnosed mathematical skills and the constant feedback to iteratively improve the technological developments implemented.
