Resumen
This study conducted a comprehensive review of the literature published between 2019 and 2023 related to the application of Big Data in higher education. To achieve this objective, an analytical and meticulous study was developed that encompassed several phases, including search, selection, classification, tabulation, and analysis of information. To carry out this systematic review, the PRISMA 2020 guide was used and databases such as Scopus and Dialnet, among other sources, were consulted. In total, 24 studies were included that met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The results showed an increase in the number of publications from 2022, especially in English language, representing 88% of the total. It was concluded that the use of Big Data in university environments is supported by empirical evidence that demonstrates its positive impact on improving educational quality and students’ academic performance.
