Usefulness of the perezhivanie construct in affectivity and learning: A systematic review

Taype-Huarca L.A.; Carpio A.L.Z.; Fernández-González S.V. · Affectivity and Learning: Bridging the Gap Between Neurosciences, Cultural and Cognitive Psychology (2023) · DOI: 10.1007/978-3-031-31709-5_11

Resumen

During the last few years, efforts have been made to understand, substantiate and reinterpret the perezhivanie construct. This concept partially proposed by Vygotsky is currently used as a useful theoretical-practical tool for the understanding of development. However, its implications for processes such as learning, emotions, agency and others still need to be explored. This study reviews the usefulness of the concept of perezhivanie for understanding affect and learning through a systematic review. Recent research using the term perezhivanie in studies conducted in educational contexts at different levels was analysed. Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) 2020 criteria were used, proposing a search string in English, Spanish and Portuguese and exploring Scopus, Web of Science (WoS), Science Direct, SciELO and Education Resources Information Center (ERIC) databases, including articles and book chapters. Forty-two articles were selected after reviewing the abstracts, of which only 17 met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Once the selection was completed, the articles were analysed using ATLAS. ti version 8.1. In the qualitative analysis of the content, the information was classified using codes. Based on the results, the transcendence of this concept is discussed as a necessary alternative to understanding the relationships between affect and learning from a historical-cultural perspective. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2023.
