Resumen
Peru, a country with great biological and cultural diversity, signed the Peace Agreement in 1998, which promoted a comprehensive vision of urban planning, highlighting the importance of public spaces and their role in social and environmental interaction. However, in Yurimaguas, Alto Amazonas Province, and Loreto Department, despite the existence of so-called green spaces, there are no studies or tools necessary to make informed decisions for the sustainable and functional development of these spaces. Therefore, this research analyzes the impact of urban green spaces in the Las Flores and Pueblo Joven 82 neighborhoods from a systematic point of view, examining their role in social cohesion, memory, and reparation. Through this exploratory research, data on both environmental and social variables were obtained and recorded, showing us a shortage of green areas, vegetation, and adequate equipment, revealing a somewhat negative social perception, which has limited our use of and access to these green spaces. The results suggest that these public spaces in the aforementioned neighborhoods are not fulfilling their designated function, given their process of social reintegration and reparation, highlighting the need for more effective and sustainable planning. © The author; licensee Universidad de la Costa - CUC.
