Resumen
Phlebodium decumanum is an ethnomedicinal resource in several native communities of America. However, little chemical information has been reported for its rhizomes, which are also used for medicinal purposes. Therefore, the objective of this study was to evaluate the phytochemical profile of the hydroalcoholic extract of P. decumanum rhizomes through identification by ultra-performance liquid chromatography coupled with tandem mass spectrometry (UPLC–MS/MS) as well as the analysis of its phenolic and flavonoid contents. Twenty-two substances were identified, with a focus on phenolic acids, flavonoids and hispidin, which have biological activities that can explain the ethnomedicinal use of this natural resource.
