Resumen
Although University Social Responsibility is widely addressed, there are still gaps in the proposals for models with specific purposes. This research proposes a new model of University Social Responsibility based on Vallaeys’ theory to improve the organizational image in a Peruvian university. The study was descriptive-propositive, with a mixed approach. The participants were 32 students, 20 teachers and 15 administrators who diagnosed university social responsibility; in addition to 80 pre-university students, 40 businessmen and 69 residents, who evaluated the organizational image. The survey technique was used and two validated questionnaires were applied. As a result, 53% of the students rated university social responsibility negatively; while 30% of the teachers and 33% of the administrators also have unfavorable perceptions. On the other hand, regarding the organizational image, 53% of the businessmen consider it bad, followed by 39% of the residents. Based on the diagnosis of the problematic reality, a new model is proposed based on five components: Leadership, social projection, research, teaching and communication. It is concluded that the model can contribute to changing the current perception and position the University as an institution committed to the community as a whole. © (2025), (Universidad del Zulia).
