Resumen
The well-being of society is the collective satisfaction observed from socio-cultural factors that contribute to the quality of life of the human being, commonly-in an erroneous way-it is believed that it is activated only by economic factors, for this reason, the objective of the study is to show the link between the university, the knowledge society and economic development, as simultaneous engines of social prosperity. For this, the qualitative-phenomenological method was used from the perspective of hermeneutical documentary analysis that led to important findings in the presented trilogy. The results allowed to establish that a university duly accredited in quality by specialized agencies, with academic exchanges in the Latin American region itself, with a prolific scientific production and with an opportunity for universal admission, generates conditions for the emergence of knowledge societies that ultimately fosters the development of human capital to face the challenges of global competitiveness of productive sectors that affect the social prosperity of citizens.
