Toscano-Hernández A.E.; Guzmán-Murillo H.J.; Malvaceda-Espinoza E.L. · Revista Lasallista de Investigacion (2025) · DOI: 10.22507/rli.v22n2a3891

Resumen

Introduction: The university-business relationship is important for fostering innovation and sustainable development. However, the scientific literature reflects a great fragmentation in the conceptualisation of this collaboration from the point of view of sustainability and stakeholders. Materials and methods: An integrative literature review was conducted, which included 68 articles identified from Scopus and Web of Science. No. 2 / julio–diciembre–2025 using ATLAS.ti 24 software to identify emerging patterns and categorise the most relevant approaches. Results: Two main contributions were identified. On the one hand, purely conceptual and theoretical studies raise the issue of the university-business relationship from the stakeholders’ point of view. On the other hand, the studies consider it empirically important to evaluate the impact of university-business collaboration from the point of view of innovation and sustainability. In both cases, it seems necessary to develop an integrative framework that takes into account the dynamics specific to the specific contexts. Conclusions: An integrative framework is structured that can help to understand and evaluate the university-business relationship in a broad way, contributing to prospective research that can lead to more effective and sustainable collaboration between universities and business. © (2025), (Corporacion Universitaria Lasallista).
