Resumen
In this work, a review of the contextual elements around the literary production of Alfredo Bryce in the 70s and 80s will be carried out, especially the novel Un mundo para Julius. In that sense, we will examine the literary field based on two principles, the heteronomous and autonomous ones proposed by Bourdieu. Then, we will examine the literary and historical events that occurred in the second half of the 20th century, such as the emergence of the Latin American Boom; the Cuban Revolution in Latin America and the Revolutionary Government of the Armed Forces in Peru (1968-1975). Alfredo Bryce's generation is called post-boom. This has differentiated features from the previous generation in line with postmodernism. Historical and literary events were favorable to the publication of Un mundo para Julius due to its critical theme. The novel represents a critical creative representation of the Peruvian oligarchy.
