Resumen
According to the IGP worldwide, Peru is considered a country with greater seismic potential, classified as a zone of high seismicity for presenting accelerations of 0.25g to 0.35g in the area of Huancayo. This work develops the use of the tuned mass damper in an experimental 5-story scale model and a 20-story ETABS model located in the city of Huancayo. For the seismic analysis the Richter scale of 6.39 Ml was used and to analyze the behavior of the structure the Arduino Mega was used by means of a GY521-MPU6050 accelerometer sensor and the readings were obtained by means of the microcontroller, while for the 20-story model it was performed by means of ETABS. Finally, it was obtained that the tuned mass damper is effective for structures greater than 5 stories since it only reduced by 6.25% in the experimental model, while for the 20-story model a reduction of the displacements between floors in the x-direction by 38.69% and a reduction in the period in the same direction by 44.07% was obtained.
