Resumen
The growing world energy demand and concern for the environment have driven the search for more efficient and sustainable technologies for electricity generation, with combined cycle power plants standing out for their high efficiency and low emissions. This study performs a thermodynamic analysis of these plants through numerical simulations with the EES program, evaluating different configurations and operating parameters, whose results show that performance optimization is possible through the proper selection of variables such as the pressure ratio in the compressor, the turbine inlet temperature and the operating conditions of the heat recovery boiler, in addition to identifying the influence of factors such as fuel quality and environmental conditions. The research contributes to the advancement of thermal energy knowledge, providing a valuable tool for engineers and power plant designers, enabling more informed decisions and more efficient optimization of energy resources.
