Resumen
This study aims to enhance the performance and lifespan of solar photovoltaic (PV) modules by utilizing alternative materials and heat dissipation strategies under idealized steady-state conditions. The investigation focuses on silicon and CIGS PV cells, considering parameters such as solar irradiance, tilt angle, and ambient temperature. A numerical model based on Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) was developed, incorporating aluminum fins as thermal dissipation systems, to evaluate module performance. The CFD model was validated using analytical data to verify both the performance and temperatures achieved by the PV modules. The results show significant improvements in heat dissipation, increased module operational efficiency, and reduced average temperatures with the use of fins. These findings are crucial for the ongoing development of more efficient and sustainable solar technologies, offering insights into the potential of alternative materials for enhancing PV module performance.
