Resumen
The purpose of this study was to establish a connection between the usage of songs and English oral proficiency among secondary school students in Tacna, Peru. With a sample of 45 secondary school pupils, we employed a quantitative, non-experimental, descriptive correlational design and descriptive technique. A Likert scale questionnaire was utilized to evaluate the variable usage of songs, and a knowledge exam was employed to measure the variable spoken English skill, which was validated by expert opinion. Between the songs variable and the relationship of English oral proficiency, the findings reveal that 68.42% of students have an exceptional level of oral proficiency, 18.42% have an expected level, 23.68% have a process level, and 7.89% have a beginning level. Similarly, a correlation of 0.743 was found to be significant. Consequently, there is a substantial association between the two factors, and the usage of songs is seen as a motivational technique for individuals who wish to learn this language.
