Resumen
Colonial Lima followed a checkerboard-type spatial distribution of public and private spaces. However, as the city grew, violation of the grid was the norm by residents, especially on the outskirts of the city, so the authorities, through complaints from those affected, corrected, forcing offenders to undo what they did. At the same time, spaces with meanings recognized and assumed by the colonial Lima population emerged, which the authorities maintained for the glory and enjoyment of all. The objective is to demonstrate through some examples the maintenance or not of the layout of the city and the perspective of identity landscapes assumed by the people of Lima and their authorities.
