The teaching of local and regional history at the peruvian university

Resumen

In the professional training of the historian or history teacher, it is essential to become familiar with local and regional themes, theoretically and methodologically, as well as in the knowledge and assessment of their environment. Is teaching local and regional history considered in professional training in history or in education with a specialty in history or a related area in public and private universities in Peru? The search for the answer is the objective of this investigation. The study, based on the study plans and curricula of professional careers in history or teaching in history or a related specialty in the universities of Peru, is qualitative in its literature review version. The results indicate divergent aspects between the professional training of historians and the training of teachers in this specialty or related area. The conclusions lead us to propose greater attention to the local and regional environment in professional training that will result in the knowledge and appreciation of the environment where they will exercise their work performance.
