Resumen
This article addresses the adult education proposal contained in the educational reform proposed by the Revolutionary Government of the Armed Forces. It does so through a detailed analysis of the military's diagnosis of the education system, the General Education Law, and public texts by the reform's proponents, most notably Walter Peñaloza, Leopoldo Chiappo, and Augusto Salazar Bondy. It concludes that the adult education proposal responded to the need to build a new Peruvian, who would critically support the transformation of the country's social, economic, and cultural structures proposed by the new government.
