The Perception of the Amazon Indigenous Peoples on Human Rights and the Law

Fonseca-Ortiz T.L.; Sierra-Zamora P.A.; Bermúdez-Tapia M.; Seminario-Hurtado N. · Vniversitas (2022) · DOI: 10.11144/javeriana.vj71.ppia

Resumen

The cultural and legal evaluation of Human Rights starts from a perspective that has been described as universal and progressive, but this vision is not necessarily valid when evaluating the normative and legal perspective that the Amazonian communities in South America have developed, especially because they do not, they have managed to develop the same conceptual content of values such as justice, rights and obligations. Therefore, a necessary evaluation of this duality of perspectives arises because a vision inconsistent with the most basic postulates of Human Rights can be generated.
