Resumen
This article shows a first approach to a public religious building of the Mochica culture (1st - 9th century AC), through the use of syntactic analyses such as spatial analysis and visual and movement perception (tools adapted from the Archeology of Architecture). The old temple of Huaca de la Luna is made up of 14 functional spaces that comprises part of a religious complex. This temple was a very well designed architectural space and performed its hegemonic role in a theocratic society. The results obtained support this assumption and allow us to recognize the levels of privacy and hierarchy owned by each built space. Copyright: © CSIC, 2020.
