The Nueva corónica and El pez de oro: Altarpieces and palimpsests

Resumen
The first objective of this article is to highlight the close relationship between the works of Felipe Guamán Poma de Ayala (1514-1615?) and Gamaliel Churata (1897-1969), despite their late contact. We believe that both authors -each in his particular context- have elaborated written (and drawn in the case of the Indian chronicler) altarpieces that describe well the complexity of the Andean world. The second objective, but not less important, is to provide some elements that support the thesis that El pez de oro (Retablos del Laykhakuy) (1957) was rewritten, corrected and extended until its publication in Bolivia so that, like El primer nueva corónica y buen gobierno (1615?), it can be considered a palimpsest, that is, a work that was rewritten and corrected over previous versions for many years.
