Resumen
Non-carious demineralization lesion is a common dental disease, which not only affects the aesthetics and function of teeth, but also leads to dentin sensitivity and pulpitis. The objective is to analyze studies from the last 5 years on possible non-carious demineralization lesions in teeth. A narrative review of the available literature was carried out using analytical and synthetic methods, by consulting articles in Scopus, PubMed and Cochrane Library. Around 350 articles were consulted, of which only 30 were included according to their scientific relevance. Currently, a series of explanatory variables have been identified that have a greater impact on the appearance of non-carious demineralization lesions, among which lesions that are more susceptible to forming cavities stand out. It is concluded that there are several factors that influence its appearance; however, they do not affect all individuals equally; but what is a reality is that they allow a great capacity for prediction, and in this way it helps to work for the prevention and minimization of risk.
