Resumen
This research analyzed the impact of the value chain on the competitiveness of automotive service companies in Peru, employing a quantitative and explanatory approach. A 36-item questionnaire was used to survey 310 industry representatives, and a SEM model with SPSS AMOS was applied. The value chain was evaluated based on primary, support, and service margin activities, while competitiveness included service quality, innovation, environmental management, and digitalization. The results reveal that primary activities significantly influence service quality and innovation (β=0.31, p<0.001) and support activities and service margin (β=0.73, p<0.001). Support activities are also strongly associated with service quality and innovation (β=0.67, p<0.001) and digitalization (β=0.78, p<0.001). No direct relationship was found with environmental management, but an indirect effect was found through digitalization, service quality, and innovation. Furthermore, service quality and innovation correlated with environmental management (β=0.454, p<0.001). These findings underscore the importance of integrated strategies that optimize operational efficiency, innovation, and sustainability to strengthen competitiveness in the sector.
