Resumen
This academic article proposes an interpretation of the short stories "El desayuno" by Pilar Dughi and "Desde el exilio" by Mariella Sala. The main hypothesis holds that, in the selected texts, the house is a symbolic matrix that reveals the normative codes of gender roles. From this perspective, we analyze the modes of representation and narrativeprocedures used by the authors to create a rupture with the conventional meanings of thedomestic space. Thus, it is argued that both stories introduce a critical questioning in the representation of the home and everyday life and, in this way, evidence the power relations that are reproduced in the private sphere.
