Resumen
Based on the General Textual Rhetoric of Stefano Arduini (which assimilates the theoretical legacy of Antonio García Berrio) and the thought of Antonio Cornejo Polar (who represents sociocriticism in Peruvian literary research), the author analyzes The spindle of the word, fundamental collection of poems by José Watanabe Varas, one of the great Peruvian poets of the seventies of the last century. The rhetoric restricted to elocutio is questioned and the concepts of figurative field (formulated by Arduini) and that of the migrant subject (proposed by Cornejo Polar) are specified. The author then examines some of Watanabe’s poems questioning the contextualism that sets aside the textual approach to blindly worship the context.
