Resumen
The research focuses on the Hacienda Punchauca, located in Lima Norte, Carabayllo district, in the lower valley of the Chillón River. This territory, of great historical and agricultural significance, still provides resources to the population and houses a property of symbolic value. However, it is facing a drastic reduction of agricultural land due to urban growth, which puts its territorial memory at risk. The objective is to identify the surviving vestiges and the predominant heritage values from the perspectives of its local population, farmers, real estate developers, related professionals, and public institutions. A qualitative methodology was employed, based on interviews, fieldwork, and documentary review. The results reveal both the predominance and absence of certain values attributed to the heritage. Finally, the study concludes that there is a need to understand the current state and origin of the heritage object so that new living spaces can integrate consciously and respectfully with pre-existing structures.
