Resumen
In this article, a peculiar discursive device in a Baroque historian in Colonial Peru will be studied: an apology of Creole women in the city of Arequipa, which is transformed into a general vindication of Indigenous peoples in order to exalt the Creole city through a series of historical analogies with experiences and ideals of the Hispanic tradition, perfectly fitted for persuading a Metropolitan public.
