The Academic Theses in Humanities from 1868 to 1900 at the Universidad Mayor de San Marcos

Resumen

Our objective is to present the 148 academic theses supported by the Faculty of Letters of the Universidad Mayor de San Marcos from the period 1868 to 1900. To do this, we will divide into the items: quantity, thematic area, mode of presentation and edition, by decades, by genre and finally by academic degree. We will have as a result that the theses reflect an intense and diverse conceptual debate, little studied, and that has been maintained as an instrument of academic validation on a regular basis in the period studied despite the war with Chile (1879-1884) and what the occupation meant.
