Resumen
This short chapter traces the formation and evolution of elgalpon.espacio – a self-managed platform for performance and interdisciplinary arts in Lima, Peru. Emerging from Peru’s post-conflict context and neoliberal transition, the collective has redefined cultural production through collaborative creation and independent art management. Drawing inspiration from groups such as Yuyachkani and hybrid underground scenes, elgalpon.espacio has served as a refuge for experimentation and dissidence within a conservative society. Its projects foster networks of solidarity among artists, activists, and marginalized communities. elgalpon.espacio is both laboratory and sanctuary, where body-based art practices generate affective, pedagogical, and political resistance within contemporary Latin American performance ecologies.
