Resumen
This research presents the design and simulation of multivariable controllers for humidity and temperature regulation in an experimental aeroponic system. Four control strategies were evaluated in MATLAB R2024b: a decoupled coordinated proportional integral controller, a decoupled coordinated linear-quadratic integral controller, a decoupled fuzzy logic controller, and a decoupled coordinated fuzzy logic controller. Simulations under two scenarios show that the decoupled coordinated fuzzy logic controller consistently attained the lowest global performance indices - Scenario 1: IAE =2.78, ISE =0.4687, ITAE =16.39, ITSE =1.66; Scenario 2: IAE =5.01, ISE =1.80, ITAE =19.36, ITSE =4.56. The decoupled coordinated linear-quadratic integral controller performed close to the decoupled coordinated fuzzy logic controller in the second scenario; and both markedly outperformed the decoupled proportional integral controller and the decoupled fuzzy logic controller. The decoupled coordinated fuzzy logic controller also achieved the highest efficiency in energy consumption and nutrient solution usage across all scenarios.
