Resumen
Currently, the development of countries and regions depends on the promotion of a culture of innovation in the production sectors, which implies the creation, dissemination and application of technologies that guarantee economic growth, the welfare of society and the environment; the clay mining sector in La Guajira cannot be deprived of this culture, especially due to the negative impacts generated to the environment as a result of the way in which this activity is currently developed. The objective of this research was to carry out a study of the clean technologies used in clay mining in the department, exposing the environmental technological innovation in the mining companies studied and their environmental efficiency. A series of theoretical elements were used to evaluate the development of the research. The methodological design used was based on descriptive, adaptive, non-experimental, cross-sectional research, the collection techniques were based on secondary information and direct sources, the sample universe of this work is made up of companies engaged in clay mining in La Guajira. The results of the study indicate that the mineral exploitation processes are carried out in a rudimentary manner with very conventional tools and methods that are highly harmful to the environment and the communities surrounding the exploitation sites. The proposed technological innovations guarantee favorable conditions for the development of controlled and environmentally responsible production.
