Afata-Ataucuri K.E.; Cardona-Reyes H. · Publicaciones de la Facultad de Educacion y Humanidades del Campus de Melilla (2026) · DOI: 10.30827/publicaciones.v56i1.36842

Resumen

Introduction: The Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) aims to analyze how users adopt technology and integrate it into their daily activities. In the educational context, understanding the factors that influence technology acceptance is essential to promote the effective integration of digital tools in teaching and learning processes. In this context, the present study examines technology acceptance among university students in the city of Arequipa, Peru. Method: The study followed a qualitative descriptive approach. The study population consisted of 2,470 second-cycle students from 46 professional schools at the National University of San Agustín of Arequipa. The Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) was applied as the evaluation instrument, considering its main dimensions: perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use. Results: The results indicate that the average level of technology acceptance among university students is close to a value of 4 on the instrument scale, corresponding to the “agree” option. This pattern remains consistent both in the overall measure of technology acceptance and in its individual dimensions of perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use. Conclusions: The findings reveal a favorable attitude toward the use of technology in the university educational environment. The consistency across the analyzed dimensions suggests that students perceive technological tools as useful and relatively easy to use, which may facilitate their integration into higher education learning processes.
