Resumen
The agroindustry faces significant challenges in inventory management, such as high product perishability, limited traceability, and low technological adoption. Therefore, the aim was to identify the most effective technologies to optimize the efficiency and sustainability of agroindustrial inventories. A non-experimental, descriptive, qualitative-quantitative design was used, corresponding to a systematic review without meta-analysis. Applying inclusion and exclusion criteria, 37 freely indexed articles were selected from the Scopus, Web of Science (WOS), and EBSCOhost databases. The results showed significant improvements with the use of emerging technologies such as blockchain with a 85.1% reduction in tracking times, the Internet of Things (IoT) with a 30% reduction in shrinkage, Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) with a 38.5% reduction in waste, Artificial Intelligence (AI) with a 30% reduction in food waste, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) with an 18% reduction in downtime, and cloud computing with a 67% improvement in efficiency. It is concluded that these tools allow for more efficient, traceable, and sustainable inventory management, although their implementation is limited by economic and technical barriers in rural SMEs, highlighting the need for low-cost, highly scalable solutions. © LEIRD 2025.All rights reserved.
