Resumen
This study proposes a technological solution that transforms projected surfaces into interactive interfaces by leveraging Microsoft’s Azure Kinect DK depth sensor. The system defines a fixed and controlled interaction space, based on physically measured distances between the sensor and the projection boundaries, which are configured directly in the code. This eliminates the need for manual calibration and ensures greater accuracy in detecting touch events. A coordinate transformation model is used to map 3D sensor data to 2D projection space, and filtering algorithms are applied to mitigate depth noise. The proposed architecture emulates traditional touch interactions—such as mouse clicks—on originally non-interactive surfaces, offering a low-cost, scalable, and modular solution, particularly suitable for educational and corporate environments. Preliminary results validate the system’s effectiveness, demonstrating accurate touch detection and satisfactory user experience.
