Resumen
This study presents a techno‐economic analysis of a hybrid photovoltaic-wind-diesel-battery system designed to supply an off ‐ grid household on Amantaní Island (Lake Titicaca), Peru. Modeling in HOMER Pro incorporated the electrical load profile, solar irradiation, wind resource, and fuel prices. Three configurations were evaluated: Scenario 1 (Load Following), Scenario 2 (Cycle Charging), and Scenario 3 (PV + wind + diesel). Scenario 1 proved optimal in terms of Net Present Cost (22 274 USD) and levelized cost of energy (COE = 0.264 USD/kWh), achieving a 96.7 % renewable fraction and annual diesel consumption of 96.7 L. Although Scenario 2 reaches 100 % renewables and greater autonomy (43.7 h), its additional cost justifies the moderate diesel backup of Scenario 1 as the best techno ‐ economic compromise. These results confirm the viability and replicability of hybrid systems in remote high ‐ Andean communities.
