Resumen
Given the growing diversity of technologies, educational demands, divergent contexts and the complexity of social relations, education faces the changes produced in global society, which is why teacher training is conceived as essential for the progress of nations. In light of the above, the present research, developed under a hermeneutic-documentary approach, aims to analyze the role of teacher training in the 21st century, taking into account the changes that have occurred in this century, its dynamics and the interactions in the paradigmatic processes of knowledge. Among the main findings, it is highlighted that the link between the teacher and knowledge is essential for the formation of individuals, capable of active citizen participation, connections with technologies and with otherness, with a permanent search for a better society. It is concluded that it is necessary to review the paradigms of traditional education, seeking a flexible, dynamic education that provides space for the comprehensive training of its teachers and students, as a necessary requirement for the paradigmatic changes of the 21st century.
