Resumen
Infections caused by Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus, currently have a significant impact on human health. The objective was to synthesize, characterize and evaluate the antibacterial effect of Ag@ZnO nanoparticles at different concentrations on E. coli ATCC 25922 and S. aureus ATCC 25923.The nanoparticles were synthesized by a chemical route and characterized using dynamic light scattering (DLS), UV-visible spectrophotometry and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). Antibacterial susceptibility testing was performed using the agar diffusion method (modified Kirby -Bauer), minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) and minimum bactericidal concentration (MBC). The results demonstrated the bactericidal and bacteriostatic activity of the nanoparticles on both bacteria. Copyright
