Synapse as a Control System Based at a Thevenin LRC Biocircuit

Nieto-Chaupis H. · 5th International Conference on Electrical, Communication and Computer Engineering, ICECCE 2024 (2024) · DOI: 10.1109/icecce63537.2024.10823637

Resumen

Synapse as any other nature mechanism aims to optimize processes, in that case is to guarantee the dynamics of neurotransmitters. Since them would acquire the role as electric charges, then one might to assume that synapse might be running exactly as a linear electrical circuit. Under this view, then all laws that determine the electric circuits can be applied well. This paper has as central argument the usage of well-known Thévenin theorem at the proposed RLC circuit, that presumably governs electric interactions at axon terminal. Once the electrical conditions have been established, interestingly axon converts in a device with a behavior of negative feedback control system. This is in accordance to the mechanism by which synaptic vesicles might be releasing neurotransmitters in an opposite direction to adjacent neuron. Negative feedback would yield an inherent equilibrium at the synapse process. In this manner, synapse runs as an self-controlled process that guarantees the pass of neuro-transmitters minimizing fails and optimizing the distribution of neurotransmitters after their releasing from vesicles.
