Study and simulation of the use of an active filter for the mitigation of current harmonics in electrical systems

Huaman A.R.O.; Monzon I.S.O.; Diaz E.H.V. · 2022 IEEE ANDESCON: Technology and Innovation for Andean Industry, ANDESCON 2022 (2022) · DOI: 10.1109/andescon56260.2022.9989847

Resumen

Currently there is high consumption of energy from non-linear loads. These loads are the source of current harmonics, and these are injected into the supply network, varying the waveform on the source, and reducing its quality. The purpose of this research is to reduce the effect of the harmonics generated by returning the current to its sinusoidal shape, for this an electrical system will be simulated in the Simulink software, on this electrical system an active filter will be placed in parallel, and the method of control for the development of the filter is based in the "P-Q"theory.The harmonic distortion results obtained from the simulation accomplish with the existing regulations for harmonics in electrical systems, demonstrating the effectiveness of the developed filter.
