Resumen
The work has context the subject Database in the Systems Engineering programme, where the didactic strategy Project Based Learning (ABPr) was applied with Formative Research in the subject, making it viable in the training of engineering students to achieve the fundamental competences for the solution of the real or elaborated project of case study. A questionnaire is applied to collect student perceptions, systematising data to show achievements. Results show the achievement of the proposed objectives as ABPr contributes to increasing the acquisition of knowledge and growth of the proposed competences. Concluding that students value favourably the experience with ABPr and the teacher’s performance. Taking into account the Formative Research, they recognise that it contributed to their training by increasing their knowledge and skills, and also helped them to develop basic research skills for the development of other subjects in the future.
