STUDENT EXPERIENCE WITH GEOGEBRA AND SELF-REGULATION OF MATHEMATICAL LEARNING AT A PRIVATE UNIVERSITY IN TRUJILLO, PERU

Ysmael Cenas Chacon F.; Eulogio Paredes Aguilar H.; Ramírez Sobalvarro Y.; Diaz-Ruiz J. · Proceedings of the LACCEI international Multi-conference for Engineering, Education and Technology (2026) · DOI: 10.18687/laccei2026.1.1.1667

Resumen

The objective of this research study was to determine the relationship between students' experience using GeoGebra and their self-regulation of learning in a mathematics course at a private university with campuses in Trujillo and Cajamarca, Peru. The study was descriptive-correlational in nature. The sample consisted of 204 students, and a questionnaire was used as the research instrument. The results showed a high and significant positive correlation using Spearman's Rho coefficient. Since the data from the normality test confirmed that the data were non-parametric, the Rho value was.874 and the p-value was 0.000; since this was less than 0.05, the alternative hypothesis was accepted. Finally, it was concluded that there is a relationship between the study variables, as well as between the student's experience using GeoGebra and the dimensions of the self-regulation variable. In this regard, the importance of such tools in the supplementary mathematics course is evident, since as students interact with them, better academic performance can be achieved.
