Leiva-Perez D.; Diaz-Huayanca B.A.; Flores-Rivero R.; Del-Carpio-Pacheco J.M.; Hernandez-Cenzano C.G. · TEMSCON LATAM 2025 - Technology and Engineering Management Society Conference (2025) · DOI: 10.1109/temsconlatam65810.2025.11238416

Resumen

The rapid advancement of emerging technologies is reshaping the structure and dynamics of labor markets, with significant implications for developing economies. In response, higher education institutions face the strategic imperative of aligning academic programs with the evolving demands of a technology-oriented workforce. This study employs a strategic foresight methodology to explore future curricular scenarios for Peruvian universities toward 2035. A mixed-methods design was implemented, combining quantitative trend analysis with qualitative expert input via a Delphi process. Thirty-three key drivers were identified and assessed based on their importance and uncertainty, leading to a structural classification and scenario development using the Schwartz matrix. Three internally coherent scenarios were constructed, from which one was selected as the normative target. A backcasting approach was applied to define milestones and strategic actions required to achieve this scenario. The findings highlight the need for enhanced coordination among universities, industry, and government to redesign curricula, integrate digital skills, and improve feedback mechanisms. The framework offers practical guidance for academic planners and policymakers seeking to strengthen institutional responsiveness and workforce alignment in the context of ongoing technological disruption.
