Resumen

Introduction: the growing number of studies that relate sport activity with better health and wellbeing has consolidated the support for sport as a preventive and health promotion approach in all contexts. Objective: to analyze the relationship between sports activity and quality of life in accounting and administration students in Arequipa. Methodology: this study used a quantitative, cross-sectional and explanatory strategy, non-experimental design, descriptive-correlational type based on structural equation modeling (SEM) to identify causal relationships. A total of 1435 accounting and administration students in Arequipa were surveyed by means of a questionnaire to determine the degree of relationship between the variables studied. Results: a significant causal relationship was found between students' quality of life and sport activity (0.889), in addition to the constructs: intensity (0.827), frequency (0.914) and duration (0.861). It also showed a quadratic error (RMSEA) of 0.071 and a discrepancy (CMIN/Gl) of 2.543, which makes the confirmatory model relevant. Conclusions: The constructs frequency, intensity and duration of sporting activity have a statistically significant relationship with quality of life in accounting and administration students in Arequipa.
