Space Tourism Generation (STG) - Born after 2021

Roman-Gonzalez A.; Romero-Alva V.; Vargas-Cuentas N.I. · Proceedings of the International Astronautical Congress, IAC (2022)

Resumen

For many years, people's access to space was reserved only for astronauts selected and recruited by a space agency after a long training period. However, many people dream of reaching space and face different limitations such as nationality, health, age, among others. Against this context, 2021 meant a change in the paradigm, as several private companies managed to send civilians into space, somewhat democratizing access to space. That is why in this work, one proposes to call those born after 2021 as the Space Tourism Generation (STG) because, for them, it will be normal to see tourists going to space. As a result, one has a new generation of people with a new mission, new frontiers, new opportunities, and new challenges. Copyright
