Resumen
This study introduces a technological proposal aimed at solving a common yet crucial challenge in freight transport: wasted space. Through an automated cubing system, the research offers a solution that not only optimizes how cargo is arranged in pallets and containers but also helps reduce costs and improve overall logistics efficiency. The model combines optimization algorithms, 3D simulations, and machine learning, enabling load planning to be more precise, adaptable, and efficient. To test its effectiveness, the system was applied in 42 real-world scenarios, yielding promising results: space utilization increased to over 83%, and operational costs were reduced by 21%. These findings show how technology can tangibly transform logistics processes, boosting business profitability while contributing to more sustainable transportation practices.
