Soft skills plan to improve managerial leadership

Borja A.V.A.; Pineda J.G.U.; Intriago F.R.O.; Núñez J.H. · Encuentros (Maracaibo) (2024) · DOI: 10.5281/zenodo.11118274

Resumen

The objective of this work is to highlight the subjectivity problems represented by the implementation of a Soft Skills Plan in the management leadership of public educational institutions. To do this, we proposed a quasi-experimental research on two groups inside a sample of 30 teachers. The results showed that 93% of the experimental group and 73.3% of the control group presented medium to low levels of leadership before applying the program. After applying a 12-session plan, 100% of the experimental group has high levels of leadership, while 74.0% of the control group maintains medium levels. There are statistically significant differences between the pre- and post-test results of the experimental group with a mean difference of 7.93 points and p=0.000. The measured effectiveness, however, depends substantially on the quality of the measurement indicators on leadership and soft skills. In conclusion, it was demonstrated that the effectiveness of the levels of managerial leadership in the experimental group subjected to a soft skills program is a possible hypothesis, but it strictly depends on the definitions and the formulated cultural and institutional strategies.
